The car step-down line is a line used for automotive electronic equipment. Its main function is to convert the high voltage of the car power supply into a low voltage suitable for electronic equipment. The following is a detailed introduction about it:

Working principle

The power supply voltage of the automotive electrical system is usually 12V or 24V, while some electronic devices such as driving recorders, GPS navigators, etc., generally have an operating voltage of 5V or 3.3V. Overcurrent protection: If the electronic device is short-circuited or overloaded, resulting in excessive current, the step-down line will automatically limit the current to prevent safety accidents caused by overheating of the line.

Reverse connection protection: Prevent damage to the electronic device and the step-down line itself due to reverse connection of the positive and negative poles during installation.

Installation method

Determine the installation location: Generally choose a location close to the electronic device and the car power supply, such as near the fuse box in the car or under the driver's seat.

Connect the power supply: Connect the red power cord of the step-down line to the positive pole of the car power supply. Usually, you can get power through the fuse. Find a suitable fuse position and use the power supply to connect the step-down line to the fuse. The black line is connected to the ground position of the car body to ensure good grounding.

Connect the device: Connect the output end of the step-down line to the power input end of the electronic device. Generally, a USB interface or other special interface is used.

Selection points

Power matching: Select a step-down line with appropriate power according to the power requirements of the electronic device. Generally, the power of the step-down line should be slightly greater than the maximum power of the electronic device to ensure stable power supply.

Quality and material: High-quality step-down cables use copper core wires, which have good conductivity and anti-interference properties, and the outer skin should have good insulation and wear resistance.
